Kōz’s management team understands the importance of developing relationships with the neighborhood groups, city council members and city planners. We establish these relationships before entering any city or neighborhood. Each member of kōz’s executive team serves on community boards and is actively engaged to improve the communities they live in.


Cathy Reines is an original founder and owner of kōz as its President, CEO & Board Chairman. Cathy is responsible for the overall financial reporting of the Company, coordinating construction and permanent financing options, investor reporting and relationships, community relations and overseeing implementation of the business plan.


Prior to joining kōz, Cathy was the President & CEO of a Seattle-based micro-housing development, construction and property management Company. Cathy has held partner positions in national, regional and local CPA firms and has held both CEO and CFO positions at SEC reporting community banks. Cathy has spoken at a number of real estate conferences as well as historically been a regular speaker at various national and local banking conferences. She has served as a board member for regional and state-wide banking associations.   Cathy holds a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting from Central Washington University and is a licensed CPA.



Joshua Scott is an original founder and owner of kōz as its Vice-President directing Design & Construction. Josh is responsible for ensuring each site is utilized to its maximum potential within each municipality’s zoning and building code. Josh is also responsible for the oversight of kōz construction, partner design team consultants and general contractors as well as creating, maintaining and updating kōz design and construction standards.


Prior to joining kōz, Josh was the founder and owner of Craft LLC and before that, a principal and founder of Mosaic Architecture, P.C. Mosaic Architecture was a full service architectural firm focusing on design driven execution of commercial and residential projects in both Washington and Montana. Craft LLC integrated the practices of architecture and construction into one creative, effective and efficient process, eliminating redundancy and improving quality in the end product. This has proven to be an excellent delivery method and one that is modeled at kōz. Joshua holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Montana State University and is both a licensed architect and general contractor.
